Senior diets?

I posted a while ago because I got some weird blood test results on my male but he seems to be doing okay. Just wanted to say thanks for all who sent their kind wishes. Also, I've done some reading and I'm confused about protein and the senior dog diet. Is protein supposed to be increased or decreased? Also, does anyone actually feed a "senior" food and are there any real benefits? My dog has had problems with foods with glucosamine so I can't feed that anyway.

I'm glad he's doing ok. Unless there is a specific medical reason for lowering the protein in the diet of an ederly dog, I would not recommend it. Infact, some seniors may require more protein as advanced age and ailments or illnesses due to advanced age can be very stressful increasing the requirement for protein.

Gotta love the seniors, God bless him.
