Samuel's surgery update

Well -- it's over. The long and dreaded day is over.

I was REALLY impressed with the vet. We had to have him there at 8:30 this morning. They gave him the pre-surgery meds while he was with us. They took him into surgery and about 10 minutes later they came and got us and let us see him. He still had the tube in his mouth -- but looked comfortable. We left and went back and picked him up at 2:00. He is home and resting well. Already asking for treats. BUT we are to limit his meal (small amount) for tonight. They said he'll be fine in the morning and ready for his walk. Here's hoping. All has went well so far.
Guess I worried too much -- but after all he IS my baby!!! :D

Oh ... I posted above for you when I saw your name around. I am SO happy that Samuel's doing well. Hope he has an easy night and is feeling right as rain in no time!

Hudson sends his condolences... :D

Samuel says "thanks" to Hudson.

He was so cute when he left the vet. He walked right out the door and peed for about 3 minutes. He must of been holding it for some time.

Then on the way home he layed between us with his head on my shoulder sleeping. He usually does that anyway but this time he was REALLY out.

Seems to be doing fine... Hope it's a peaceful night. Will keep you posted.

Is Hudson okay now???

Thanks for asking ...

Hudson is by and large better but I still don't think he's back to himself. There was a lot of swelling there for a couple days, but that seems to have gotten better now. He's drinking TONS of water but I'm attributing that the summer weather we've been having. Who knows? Maybe he's just bummed out that we haven't done any of his favorite things (run on the beach and go swimming) lately. He's eating and going to the bathroom normally so I'm not TOO worried. I hope he perks up soon though. Hopefully Samuel will have a much easier time of it!

Awww...so glad to hear that everything went well for Samuel. I'm impressed that your vet would invite you to come back as they were prepping him! Gee, that sounds nice.

Lucy is going on Thursday for her Penn-hip, and they're going to knock her out (or at least give her enough stuff to relax her good). I'm so worried about it, too. I'm sure it'll be fine, but we always think "what if" about our babies.

The night went great! He ate a small amount for supper and a treat before bed and all went well. He slept all night. Got up this morning and it was as if nothing had happened. He got his toy and we went for our morning walk. Did his normal pooping. Not runny at all. Got back and he ate his usual breakfast and now he's taking his morning nap. Same old Samuel. The incision is fine -- no swelling. I'm sooooo happy.

Wow! That is great. I hope things go like that for Lourdes but I know she has to have her eye surgery too so I don't know. But it's great to hear that Samuel is doing so good. He sounds like he's back to normal.
