Romp n' Swim, Pasadena, MD 7/15/07 1pm

Turn your Newf loose on the MAIN Beach at beautiful Downs Park to frolic and splash with other webfooted slobberhounds!

Downs Park (where Fall Fun Day is held) has invited all Newfs to participate in their 25th Anniversity Celebration by having a Romp n' Swim on the MAIN Beach (not the Dog Beach) at 1pm on Sunday July 15th!

We did this a few years ago and the 18 Newfs there wowed the crowd and had a fabulous time.

http://www.aacounty.org/RecParks/parks/downs_park/calendar.pdf and this beautiful park at 8311 John Downs Loop, Pasadena MD 21122 also offers a setting right on the Chesapeake Bay, a playground, miles of trails and picnic tables/grills.

Admittance to the park is FREE for this day. The closest parking is in the first big lot on the right (there's a small, slightly hidden one on the right before it) but in case it's full, none of the lots are that far away.

I just wanted to thank you folks for the GREAT time! Zeus PARTICULARLY enjoyed himself, based on slime output. He is normally dry mouthed as far as Newfs go.

Zeus is such a gorgeous boy. He has one of those big smushy heads that just demands a hug! He was a perfect gentleman all day too!

When you read the topic line is just says "Romp n' Swim, Pasadena". I got so excited , I mean who would think there were enough newfies in Pasadena, CA to have a get together, WOW way cool.

Yes we can go to the Romp and Swim, but you and Cleo are luckier because you get to go to the Rose Bowl Parade!!!!! We just get to watch it on tv. lol

It is better on TV, the only thing you really miss is the smell of dirty street

, well ok all the flowers smell good too.
But really on TV is better you can see the whole float when you are there you only see one side and I am usually on the wrong side of the float.

Emily, I'd still love to see it in person at least once! Sort of like the Macys day parade on Thanksgiving, I saw it once, now I'm good for the rest of my life! lol

And since our newf-mix Moose was rescued from Pasadena, CA in one of those great NewfNet rescues, Art pointed out that Moose has now been to both Pasadenas!
