Ribbons

So I'm wondering what everyone does with their ribbons? Between Turner, Dani, and Journey, there are quit a few. I'd like to display them....but don't want my whole house covered with shadow boxes.....

Any creative ideas out there?

I've heard of people weaving baskets, or making quilts, quilted vests, etc, out of them. Wouldn't know, as we've never collected a ribbon with ours.

I haven't done it yet, but I hope to have Ebony's made into a small quilt/wall hanging. Google ribbon quilts and you will see some places. I don't have any specific recommendations to give.

Our 2 cats suggest you build swinging hanging cat toys with them. *Big cat grins with swishing tails* Cats rule, dogs drool. I think a glassed in framed whole wall display with room for more ribbons is the way to go. Orka sez put them front and center in your kitchen and give your Newfs a treat whenever your eyes hit the ribbons.

The only problem with the ribbon quilt is how does one clean them? I have a bunch of ribbons too and am just at a loss of what to do with them.

I knew someone who showed horses. She had dozens, perhaps hundreds of ribbons. She decorated her laundry room with them: pinned them up along the top walls like a wallpaper border, shaded by color, each one overlapping the other one a little.

How about framing some of them? Pretty wall hanging and good memories too.

Mine are all in drawers, current ones hanging on our welsh dresser. Always planned to do quilts (when i have time) we have lots of horse ones too and some are very precious memories of some amazing horses and dogs.
I have seen one quilt done and it was lovely. She got hers dry cleaned once and some of the gold lettering came off :(

All my ribbons are hanging in my dog room (well, that is since we moved, right now they are in boxes).

As i collected ribbons i just hung them in rows on one wall until the wall was covered. Extra special ribbons go on a different wall with photos. I am still waiting on a HIT ribbon for Luna... Hopefully it will come at some point...I'm gonna sleep with that one :p

I plan on making a quilt with all my qualifying ribbons since they are small and flat.
