Recently D'Artagnan and I joined a retriever group at a local swim hole. D'Artagnan quickly wore out his welcome when he kept 'rescuing' a four month old golden. I tried to stop him, but it was a cold, wet, rainy day and nobody but the dogs were actually in the water. It was funny because the retrievers would bring sticks to me, but my newfie would take the sticks and hide them away where nobody could throw them back in the water. He would look at me like - 'How dare you keep drowning that stick I just rescued!'
So how DO we keep D'Artagnan from rescuing perfectly able bodied retriever pups?! This was his second incident?!
