Preparing for dark days

How do you walk your dogs on dark days? I was getting them flashing lights for collars but daughters fiance thought this a good idea for Finn! :smashy:

that seriously is a good idea!!:lol: I've never had an all black dog, and I've been putting Maggie on her leash at night because "come" is still optional to her...I don't want to be waiting for her to decide playtime is over-at 2am.

Ha...Macy needs flashlights so that I can see her in the HOUSE! We are forever tripping over her in the hallway at night. Neon green is a good look!

we actually have almost the same thing for Molly but its the reflective orange type.
she wears it every time she goes out at night

LOL! I walk all Newfs on lead anyway...except Addie, and she isn't going anywhere without us. hahaha But we only walk around our property. I would never walk a black dog without a lead around here at night.

We used to walk Cole (Newf) and Benny (Golden) every night. Benny without lead. HOWEVER, he got stubborn about coming when called, and we couldn't see him, so we got him a flashing collar. It worked, but it's annoying to turn on and off. ha!

Perhaps your future son-in-law could wear that when he's walking Finn!

I have a bright orange reflective vest that I put on Boj when we're walking in super dark areas, and he is always on lead (a lead with reflective tape on it). I also wear a head lamp...I get made fun of by friends, but it is perfect for leaving your hands free He also wears his vest when hiking with me in the woods. Here's a photo of him modeling it while chasing after Nanook in the woods:

Trouble here is to walk him along the road on a lead, we have no pavements or street lights. I have just ordered a head torch cos we three dogs I definitely need my hands free!!!

That is a great idea, especially when hiking in the woods, as well as dark nights.

I have refective x-large dog coat/reflective ( they are like huge crosses). they are very light and easy to put on. Must take some pics with them on. Don't have any as yet

Bär also owns a safety vest, that he wears when we walk in the evening or at night.

molly wears hers and hubby wears one also when he walks her at night.

We wear ours also on snowy winter days & now that there are real bears around & being shoot at, he wears every time we walk.

Excellent idea!! And I really love Bar's with the light strip for him and mom. That's wild!!

I use one of the flashing collar clips and a reflective leash but I'm liking the idea of the vest. I'm going to have to look for one!
