Pop Ups

Lately when I open the newf.net website I get pop up adds. Has anyone else gotten any? Why are we getting them????

Jeannie.. No I have never gotten a Pop-up Ad at newf.Net..I am on NetScape as a browser, does that make a diffrence..

no jeannie, no pop ups here but if you were on a site that had them those evil suckers are die hards and maybe emptying your cookie folder will help?

Clean out the cookie folder. You got them from somewhere else and they decided to follow you home.

Ok I just recently cleaned my cookie folder, so I will do it again. I use road runner as my ISP. HUM...... don't know!!

Depending on how militant you are about it (I am rather so ) there is a product called Pest Patrol that can handle such things. It sounds like you may have gotten some form of "Adware". Pest Patrol is pretty good at getting rid of that stuff. It also comes with Cookie Patrol that will screen out unwanted cookies.

Are they messenger ad pop ups. Computers are getting hit by ads that have Messenger and no firewalls.

I did a search for "Pest Patrol" and found some free downloads. Is that the software you were talking about?
