Pads

Shifty

New member
Looking for some help. We live near Cleveland and with the winter and all of the salt and such on the sidewalks I'm noticing PJ's pads are getting extremely dry. We clean him off after all the walks but I am curious if any newfy parents recommend (or don't recommend) any cremes etc for the pads. Thanks in advance.

Bag Balm - the wonder ointment!! You could also try the Bag Balm before the walk to protect as well.

I always got bag balm at my local farm store, but I think some drug store carries it too. It comes in a green square tin. As far as the boots--don't waste your money. I bought 2 sets--even the real expensive ones in the largest size and they don't fit a newf properly. Besides that they fall off

Yup - Lee Valley Tools sells it - promo for local Ottawa company

URL is www.leevalley.com
And look under Gardening - Skin and Hand Care. $6.75 US for a 10oz tin

Stuff is also great for sore chapped hands on humans as well. Use about once a week or so to keep hands soft - put on a layer at night then put cotton gloves on and hands come out wonderfully soft. This and tea tree oil are a must in my medicine shest.

According to their website: Bag Balm is available at most Ace Hardware, Walgreen's, CVS, Southern States, Thrifty Drug,
Fred Meyer, Super Value, and Agway
stores, as well as fine tack shops and
farm supply stores across the country.

However, these sites sell it:

Ese's pads are getting dry too. Thanks so much for the tip Jeannie!!
