Words can't describe how exciting it was to watch the WRDX (Water Rescue Dog Excellent) test. After every exercise, applause erupted as the newfs enthusiastically performed their tasks. Exercise #5 tripped up three of the 4 dogs entered (rescue of multiple victims). They all went for the floating markers attached to anchors that mark the distances from shore! Only Winston (I love this dog; he's so enthusiastic about water work, actually "chirps" when the boat is rowing him out) was the only dog to successfully complete this exercise. Winston didn't tow in the unconscious victim which he has always done perfectly before or he would have had his WRDX. Just the day before, he passed his WRD! This first picture is Winston finding the trapped victim underneath a raft and towing her out
This pic is of Sea-anna, bringing in her jacket in Sunday's WRD test. She passed both days
This last one is Judi Adler with her newfie, Esme, giving Esme that hug of "Congratulations, you've done me proud!" Esme earned his WRD.
