I had beautiful wisteria growing all ofer my wooden fence, it really prettied up the area. When I was away, the real estate agent called and said the owner was coming to plant some plants in the garden. I was glad about that and even more glad when the owner called me later and thanked me for taking care of the garden so well. (It is a rental and sometimes I guess some tenants don't like to garden).

When I got back I saw that in addition to planting some plants she had ripped out ALL the wisteria - not a trace of it was there. In fact it was such a good removal it took me a while to notice there was anything wrong with it! It looks really bare and yuck now.

I've gone around to another area of the garden and tried to transplant little baby wisteria plants to the same area in the hope that they would take and grow all over the fence again. Every time I do this I check the next morning and the wisteria is dead. All in about 12 hours. WHYYYYY? I've watered it in and stuff each time. Maybe I need to buy a more established one from somewhere? Any suggestions?

Wisteria is a very hardy vine. It doesn't take much to start over. Oh - I see you already have the procedure. The only think I would add is to prop up the little shoots. Wisteria is a reaching vine and doesn't start well horizontally.
