This is the first Children's Book featuring Newfoundlands that I got. I was very eager to get it because the Newf's name is Cora, just like my very special girl. The difference being, that at the time, Cora was only 2, and the character in the book was quite a bit older.

The book is filled with bright, colorful illustrations. I love Consie Powell's work. The story is sweet. It's about a family going to cut down their Christmas Tree. Cora had always gone along, and after the family had cut their tree down, she would pull the tree back home on a sled.

However, this year, the family left her behind, fearing that she was too old. Determined to prove them wrong, Cora followed the family. She made a pest of herself, trying to get the family to let her help. In the end, she leads the younger dogs home.

It's that time of year, and this is a wonderful Newfie Christmas Story.

I have this book, like Annie, it was one of the first I bought. I have read it to my grandbabies and they liked it too. They just wonder why Angel doesn't have a pretty pulling harness like the newfs in the book. Frankly, I have been wondering the same thing. It's about time! Huh?! Almost Christmas...

I bought this book for our niece for Christmas, but I am keeping it for myself.
I just don't think she will appreciate it. So she will get the Wallmart give card instead.
