i just read this site. I also just bought a raised bowl. My dog was actually lying down to eat and looked so uncomfortable so I bought a raised bowl. It can be 5 inchs to 12 inchs elevated.Do puppies ever get the bloat? She has the hickups alot,since we got her. I'm nervous now and would like some more imfo. Where can I look to help me make an educated decision?

There is a whole thread about this in this section from 6/12 if you want to look back. I'm sure all your questions will be addressed, although it is a contravertial subject with many opinions. I guess all you can do is to read the posts and then make the decision yourself. Puppies can get bloat and I do think most people do use the raised dishes, but there are other factors that can cause bloat.

Morgan also used to hiccup a lot as a puppy. I asked the vet about it and she told me that it's very common in puppies and nobody really knows why. But they grow out of it.

As for the raised dish, I'm staying out of that one...

Don't have much of an opinion myself anyway -- haven't done enough research yet on the various studies.
