Obie's home

Obie's home, the power's back on and all is well for me and my family. Clearly there are serious issues for areas outside New Orleans though. My husband had to come back to deal with severe damage at the apt. Complex where he works. It was before power was restored to our home, so we bunked in a vacant apt with a/c for one night. Obie's first experience with sleeping on carpet-- he was unimpressed:) he quickly discovered the bathroom tile though and settled in nicely. He even learned some new "evacuation skills" ... He now has discovered the joys of bathtub faucet and toilet water drinking .

We had to evacuate during Irene last year with our two (plus the whole rest of the human family). It was really stressful! Being in a not quite newf = proof place for close to ten days, the uncertainty, trying not to leave too much hair and mud everywhere ....

glad you are all OK

Glad you and your family are safe and home again. Sending prayers to all who have lost their homes. I have to say that you Louisianans are a gutsy, stalwart bunch of folks!

Isaac made his way to Kansas City on Friday and Saturday and he was still impressive!
