I found this at our local Harris Teeter store. It is Nurture Heavenly Harvest Holistic dog food. Seemed like it would be good for our newf but I think it may be a new product as I've never heard of it before. Wanted to get feedback on whether anyone has heard of this brand and if it's any good. Our 7 yr old newf currently weighs about 145lbs.

Crude protein 21%
Crude fat 16%
Crude fiber 3%

Ingredients (first 20 ingredients listed on the bag: Chicken meal, ground brown rice flour, rice flour, rice bran, poultry fat, flaxseed, canola oil, natural flavors, salt, dried egg product, dried kelp, dried carrots, dried celery, dried beets, dried lettuce, parsley, dried water cress, dried apples, dried blueberries, dried spinach, garlic power, potassium chloride...

Any dog food ingredients list always lists the ingredients list by weight before processing. What is really in the food is listed before the 1st fat ingredient. So you have Chicken meal, ground brown rice flour, rice flour, rice bran, poultry fat in your food. All others are just trace/small amounts. Basically this food is chicken with 3 types of rice. I'd give it a try as I see no corn, by-products or fillers in it.

I think a slightly higher protein level may be better - but it depends on the dog. We went that low with ours once and it did not work out at all.... I'd also like to see more meat protein sources first rather than all of that rice. Not a bad food in terms of quality - just maybe not the right mix - but then each I think are different.....
