Hi Everyone!
I received a desperate plea to help 5-month-old Cheetah last week, and his little face/wagging tail (see photo) and story stole my heart! The Cedar Rapids, IA shelter suffered a devastating flood in June of ‘08, and their entire facility was lost. The temp shelter is much smaller, so they fill up quickly – and the local pool of adopters was decimated by the flood and poor economy. Shelter volunteers are struggling to get their dogs to locations where there are available adopters. Cheetah was found stray, and he’d been there longest. Not a single person had shown interest in him, and his time was almost up. Shelter volunteers all loved this sweet and happy little dog, and were working hard to find him a safe place.
What the shelter said about Cheetah: "Pretty boy Cheetah was found as a stray along with his pal Sloopy, who was adopted. Only 5 months old, he is very friendly to both people and other animals. Cheetah is very well behaved and knows some basic commands. A very adoptable dog, who should have his entire life ahead of him!"
CHEETAH

Kris from Because You Care Rescue in Erie, PA also fell in love with Cheetah when I shared his story… and she was able to make room for him! Please help me get Cheetah to Because You Care this weekend – see below for what’s needed, and email me privately if you can help out! Please include your phone/cell, car/color, plates/state & rescue affiliation/reference. This transport will be fully monitored, and permission is granted to crosspost. Many thanks for considering this trip
