There is a family the lives at the other end of the block that had two dogs, a mixed breed and a Basset Hound both over 15. Alf the mixed breed passed away in Early December. They had thought he had bone cancer a few years ago, but never got significantly worse. But he turned out to have lung cancer, so maybe it spread. Alf was a Pet Partners Dog.
The Basset is a litter brother of the original "Pesky Little Varmint". He died right after the 1st of the year. He had a bleeding tumor, and at the age he was, they thought it was best to help him to the Bridge. He was the last survivor of a litter of 11. My MD also had one, Winnie, who was the first to go in 2012, and Gabby in 2014 just two days after their 14th birthday.

Anyway here is a couple of pictures of Alf and Leroy the owner sent me in the Fall. Before Alf had skin problems, when his fur was grown out, he did kind of remind you of the TV show character Alf. RIP Guys!
