Many of you have been kind enough to inquire about my Mom. There is still no concrete diagnosis on the results of her chest xray. Could be several different things they are checking for.. Cancer included. More tests down the road.

We have secured a unit for her in the retirement residence which is beautiful. Yes she is resisting but it needs to get done as her mental and physical health continues to fail. I truly believe once she is there that she will settle and make friends and hopefully be happier. Closing date for the house is Sep 11th.

In order to get through the next month I have booked a trip back to Antigua in October. Every time I think I cannot get through this I will think on that and it will be my salvation. So thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers. For now it is one day at a time. :hugs:

Praying all is well with NN Nana!! I think you are right that she will settle in and make friends. My grandma was very resistant at first...she was a cantankerous old lady!! And she even met a "man friend" at her retirement community! :shocker:

(Is there room in your suitcase for me??)

The transition will be tough for her initially, but once she gets settled in I'll bet she will adjust quickly. Prayers that that will be the case, anyway.

God bless you and Nana. I swear the waiting on test results is almost as hard as hearing bad news. Praying the results come back negative. Hopefully Nana will settle into and enjoy her new home. I'd make sure she has her familiar things around her ASAP. It can help with the transition, particularly if there are memory issues.

You certainly have a full plate and richly deserve a relaxing vacation in a sunny place with fancy drinks.

I know she drives you nuts, but remember it is going to be a huge change for her, but hopefully after she settles in she will be happy.

My experience (and there has been plenty) with the elderly has been once they adjust they really like it. Praying for all good outcomes and results for you, all aspects of your life, and Nana. God bless you all.

Went through this with my father, and much to my shock he settled in and is happy there.
