Hey all, I'm doing research for our puppy, and we would like to feed raw, but hopefully at a reasonable cost. I'm having trouble finding a cop-op in NJ (I'm SURE they exist, just can't find it online) and since there are so many Newf-Netters in NJ and the surrounding area, I thought I should check here.

Any raw feeders who are part of a co-op they could suggest? Or, alternatively (if I can't find one already established) would anyone be interested in even checking into forming our own (I have no idea how difficult that would be, I'm just seeing if it's even a possibility).

And ideas on how to make this work are appreciated!

Where in NJ are you from? I know of some places in Bergen County that sells raw. I used to live up there.

Union County. The Summit area, if that helps, but I anticipate being willing to travel for the best prices, within reason.

Is Pearl River far from you? It looks like the raw supplier we purchase from delivers there. It looks like it's about 40 minutes up the parkway? They deliver once a month.

I switched mine over to raw in July and I could NOT be more happy. We started our own co-op in S. Jersey. We get our food from this supplier:

They also have their own group on Yahoo Groups so you could join it and ask any questions you have about deliveries, etc. And, I'll gladly answer any questions you have about the product...just ask away!

There's a great store in Ridgewood, the owners are wonderful. It's the only place I used to go when I lived in NJ until I moved 2yrs ago. Here's the store info for their 2 locations:

On a side note, I think this is so sad. The biggest thing I realized when I moved West was how focused they are on the health of pets and how dog friendly it is out here. Dogs can go to almost any restaurant patio, and there are 10 dog stores within 15 miles of my house who all sell raw, and all have self bathing areas. It is a shame this isn't the norm in all areas of the US.

I am missing how dog friendly CO is now that I'm in NJ!

Wow....maybe it's just we I live, but I find my area of NJ extremely dog-friendly.
