Newf sighting

I was channel surfing the other morning and came across Police Academy 2-Their First Assignment. I haven't seen this movie in years and noticed that the police K-9 in the movie appears to be a chocolate Newfie. The scenes I saw were fairly brief, But I'm almost positive that it was a Newfie.
