Newf puppy on Omaha Craig's list

My co-worker just showed me something from Craig's list:

"Just got a newfy pup about 3 weeks ago and have decided that I am not ready for a dog right now. He is a gorgeous pure black dog and he will be very big when he grows up. He's a purebred newfoundland and at 10 weeks he already weighs about 20 lbs. We paid $500 for him and we are only asking a fraction of that back. He has had his first puppy shot but is due again next week. Please email me a little about yourself and we can discuss everything. Thanks and god bless."

Not sure what our Newf community does with this info, but I thought I would put it out there. I already have all I can handle with 2 St. Bernards and one 16-month old Newf!

$500 is for a backyard breeder or a miller...not good lines or good health in most cases.

I wrote and asked if she would send me a picture. I don't think this dog is full blooded newf. It looks more like a lab puppy to me. She said she's asking $150.00 for the pup.

Certainly looks like my black Lab mix rather than a Newf, but gosh he's adorable. What a shame.

That is what Bailey looked like when he was 4 months old. He had fuzzy ears and his coat was the same. By the time he was 6 months he was nothing but fluff. You can see the feathering on the pups tail, we actually got to watch the feather roll on Baileys tail.
