A friend told me about this guy, and I thought I'd ask a few questions here. The only thing holding me back is that they said he doesn't do well with other dogs in the home. Well, that and the fact I have a sick kitty right now. Should I contact Newf rescue about him? Should I call FF and ask about him, like breeder info, why he's there, why he can play with other dogs but not live with them? He is in a foster home, but I worry that the wrong person might get him and he'll end up somewhere not favorable.

In one place they say he is good with other dogs, in another, he is not.
Also, they say he is purebred, and then below that he is Newf mix.
You could email and ask if they have contacted Newf Rescue. What area is he in?
There is a sticky in this forum giving all the Newf Rescue contacts in the U.S.

It looks like a typo, if he's a therapy dog and likes to play with other dogs, I'd think he could be OK with another dog in the home? Perhaps they don't want to mix him with a small dog but another large dog would be OK? If his picture/story speak to you, I would definitely call and ask!

If you are ready for another dog have you also asked your breeder about a re-home? My breeder has re-homes fairly frequently, from retiring dogs from showing who won't be breeding, to occasionally finding a home when a first home did not work out. She called me a few years ago with a nice match for Cooper, another nice Newf who was a bit anxious at home alone and wanted a SAHM with Newfs in the house as well - broke my heart but I could not take her at the time.
