Well I brought my new girl home. She is two years old.Very sweet and too big. My question is Sallly will not leave her alone. She wants to play all the time. She is trying to herd her I think. She was trying to hump her also. So what do I need to know about adding another female. Any suggestions?

Trying to hump her is just her way of showing your new girl that she is the dominant top dog of the household. I wouldn't be too concerned, that's a normal thing! They'll adjust and learn their pecking order. You can try to stop this but it isn't an easy thing to do, since being pack animals, it's a normal canine instinct to establish their standing in the pack.

I would say this is pretty normal. The new girl needs to get more comfortable and the "older" girl needs to establish her dominance - at least in the beginning. Be sure to feed them in separate parts of the kitchen, and never give a treat to one without giving a treat to the other. You need to establish that "all are equal" in your eyes, and that will help make everybody comfortable. We also make everybody sit befor eating and then wait for just a bit before they're told to eat. That helps re-enforce who's really at the top.
