New here...

Hi everyone.

I am so glad I found a place where the main discussion is about Newfies. We lost our precious Newfy, 6 months ago on the 10th. I have been devastated and I try to get through each day as they come. He was my special baby. We were lucky to have had him for just over 9 years. I belong to a pet bearevement group that have provided me with tremendous support. We want to rescue a Newf and I have tried very hard for the last few months to find organizations to help us but it has been a difficult journey.

I am so excited to find this board. I can't believe I missed it before. I hope you don't mind my joining in.

We have two cats and a 10 month old pup. All have been rescued from various situations. Our pup is a gorgeous cross and he is very special but as you all know, once you have loved a Newf, there is always a need to have them in your life forever.

Oh, by the way... I'm sorry...I may have been bidding against some of you at e-bay...

Hi, Stormy! I'm new here, too, and everyone's been really great and welcoming which I appreciate tremendously. I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss. Some people just don't understand that our animals are our "children" and it hurts when they have to leave us. So very devastating. I'm glad these forums exist, too, if not for any other reason than to feel that I'm not alone in my love for my babies (Baby Nani, 9 week old Newfy, Bear, 11 year old Chow, Cairo, 7 month old kitten, and Menes, 9 month old kitten...all rescues except for my Newfy). I hope you can feel as comfortable here as I do already.

You are a wonderful person for rescuing those that have suffered and I hope you find that one special Newfy that needs you. I know the wait is frustrating but we must all be glad that abandoned Newfs aren't as easy to find as other, less fortunate souls. In a perfect world, they would ALL be in loving homes, every breed of every shape and color and there would be no such thing as "rescue shelters" but...*sigh*...well, our world is far from perfect.

Good luck in your search. Feel free to share whatever you feel like sharing. Even fetishes of naked women on trampolines! Hahahahaha (oh, nevermind)

Welcome to Newf-Net. It tends to get overlooked by many Newfie owners but I've found it a great place to come.

So sorry to hear about your Newfie. A pet is still part of the family and losing one can be just as hard, I think.

Hopefully you'll be united with another needy Newf soon!

Yes, welcome. I agree, this site was not one of the first I stumbled across, but I'm glad I found it.

I'm just sitting here minding my own business, while Newman is trying to take my breakfast out of my mouth!!

Welcome
This is one of the nicest and friendliest sites around. Being a first time newfie owner, I've learned so much about the breed. Everyone is so helpful and their suggestions with problems are great! I look forward to signing on everynight.

Have you contacted Newf Rescue? What area of the country do you live in? I can't find my NCNC directory but if you need it I can give you Mary Prices email address. She is the one that is in charge of Newf Rescue.
