My Dear Friend Chris Pulver, who is Newfoundland Rescue for our area, has written a wonderful book sharing her experiences through the many years she has devoted to Newfs & Rescue.

Some of you may know her personally, or know "of her". Her heart, soul and basically her whole life has been ...and continues to be dedicated to helping Newfs.

It's a glimpse into her real life experiences that I know she wanted to share and we should all hear about.

It can be found at

Chris is truly a "guardian angel" for unwanted and unloved Newfs here on Long Island. She goes out of her way to rescue a newf in need,in order to get that newf under her "wing". I received her autographed book weeks ago. It's very quick reading. One chapter is devoted to Elliott, a "backyard" newf who I knew about last year. The previous owner just didn't want to let him be adopted, but yet, didn't want him in their home. :( Unfortunately, by the time Chris was able to "rescue" him it was too late.
Some people just shouldn't own newfs or any other of God's creatures who only look to us for food, shelter and love....they give us so much in return.

What a book! I'm about half way through it right now. I just read Elliot's story last nite. WOW. I had a hard time falling asleep. My mind was on Elliot and his tragic story.
I was tossing and turning for a while thinking about him.
