Thank you everyone, it is so appreciated. Hawk, I hope your kitty is home soon, we have all our fingers and paws crossed for you.
Giles dragged himself home through the mud with a fractured femur, most likely fractured in two places, at 213AM. We spent a few hours at the emergency vet in NH -the closest at this hour, and he will be staying there for at least tonight. He is stable and doing well, but they want to operate and we aren't convinced it is the right thing to do. Its not just the 2000$ price tag, it seems very invasive and risky to me. I NEED a second opinion or two. I LOVE this cat, and he is my husbands special baby.
I have to go to work in an hour and am exhausted, and am also suffering from a rotten head-cold. Needless to say we are spinning. Giles is very precious to us, but it is simply not his nature to be an indoors cat and he CAN NOT be an outdoors cat because of his deafness. This is the third serious injury he has had, the last one being a broken jaw a year ago. We have a lot of thinking and talking and research to do today. The last thing I want to do is make his quality of life suffer more.
this is me feeling lousy getting some tlc from Giles, something I wish I could do for him right this moment.
