Our deaf kitty got out this morning and has been gone for about 13 hours. When he goes out he usually turns up in an hour or so, none of the neighbors have seen him. I am soooo worried. I just hope he curled up in someones barn and got shut in. its cold out and he hates the cold, another reason he should have come home by now. We both worked today but left the back porch door open so he could get in.

thanks, I am worried sick. I spent about an hour with one of our neighbors walking her property. SHe called the neighbors I still don't know and we were all out with flash lights in a search party. No luck. I am trying not to fear the worst.
I just want him to come home.

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. I know how upset you must be. Sending good thoughts and prayers that you get him home soon, safe and sound!

Roisin,
Our cat has also strayed away....she has been gone for more than three days now. She has never done this. She is a snuggler at bed time and sleeps with us through the night.
Our hope/prayer is that she is not in any discomfort. I also hope that your cat is not in any discomfort.
I wish you Peace through this difficult time.

I am hoping he was so fascinated by the outdoors..that he wandered about..in cat-ly joy..examining his world. Then, tired from his wanderings..found a tidy shelter to curl up in..spend the night..to return by morning. I will hold this in my thoughts tonight. hugs, ina n HB

She may be deaf but I'm sure her other senses have automatically kicked up into high gear to make up for it. Good thoughts and prayers will be sent your way -

Prayers for both kitties and their owners. I know about a million "safe kitty return stories" and have lived some. I also know that doesn't help at all right now, but may be a little comfort. It's such a worry!! I'm sorry and will pray hard.

Thank you everyone, it is so appreciated. Hawk, I hope your kitty is home soon, we have all our fingers and paws crossed for you.

Giles dragged himself home through the mud with a fractured femur, most likely fractured in two places, at 213AM. We spent a few hours at the emergency vet in NH -the closest at this hour, and he will be staying there for at least tonight. He is stable and doing well, but they want to operate and we aren't convinced it is the right thing to do. Its not just the 2000$ price tag, it seems very invasive and risky to me. I NEED a second opinion or two. I LOVE this cat, and he is my husbands special baby.
I have to go to work in an hour and am exhausted, and am also suffering from a rotten head-cold. Needless to say we are spinning. Giles is very precious to us, but it is simply not his nature to be an indoors cat and he CAN NOT be an outdoors cat because of his deafness. This is the third serious injury he has had, the last one being a broken jaw a year ago. We have a lot of thinking and talking and research to do today. The last thing I want to do is make his quality of life suffer more.
this is me feeling lousy getting some tlc from Giles, something I wish I could do for him right this moment.

THANK THE GOOD LORD!!!! :D Ain't he a purrrtty site?"

A broken leg is better than not havin' him, at all!!! WOW!!! He's a tuff one!

I had a cat that had a broken hip and shattered leg....he did real well with the pin stickin' out of him, and when the pin got taken out...he was just like NEW!

Give your Giles a BIG 'ol hug and kiss for me.

Roisin, I'm so sorry that Giles came back with such a severe injury, I'm sure you're very upset and exhausted. Figuring out the next step will be difficult, but at least you have him home. Giles a gorgeous kitty and looks like a big loveable ball of fur
Also, Hawk, I hope your kitty comes home soon, too.
