Need to buy a new nail clipper...can anyone recommend a good one. My two are not the easiest to trim...they do NOT like their paws touched...

We were looking at a dremel too. We have pedipaw as well and it's not very powerful. It works to smooth out the sharp edge left from the clipper but doesn't really take down the nail. I went to Amazon and was looking at the Dremel 7300 or the 7700.

I have the Miller's Forge nail clippers..."the ones with the orange handles". They do a great job on all the newf's nails. Though my pair will soon be ten years old. And it does seem that just lately I could probably use a new pair.

We have those clippers too, Anita. We purchased them when we had our labs and they work just as good today. Our boys don't like having their nails cut so we're looking into a dremel too.

I admit to attempting to dremel Holly's nails with the Pedipaws. It took over an hour. After that we've stuck to the green handled guillotine clippers. I've been thinking about a new pair though, the old ones are getting a little dull.

I use a multi speed dremel on the gang with a sanding wheel. It's fast and I'm more confident to not get the quick when I grind. Sanding wheels come in 2 sizes so you can pick the one you're most comfortable using. Be careful not to sand the nail for more than about 3 seconds so it doesn't heat up. And I found that the battery/rechargeable dremel didn't last long enough before it needed charged so I use a regular one. I also found that the pedipaws was basically useless for big dogs and/or hard nails.

We use these also I even recommended them to my Vet and they have them now, and are very pleased as well.

We have a dremel too..but i have also taught my dogs to accept the ordinary nail clippers.use clicker training for that. look up Kikkopup on Youtube and she will show you how. Mine hold out their feet and get exited when nail time is on :)

We use a Dremel, but the most important thing is have help, a grooming table or picnic table and a coffee cup filled with peanut butter that has been in the freezer.

Miller forge here as well. Hubby uses a dremmel on our yellow lab, but the rest all get " clipped".
