My best friend's dog - Bailey the Golden Retriever

I know Bailey wasn't a Newf, but he was my best friend's Golden Retriever. Bailey crossed the rainbow bridge on Saturday after a year-long battle with cancer. Here are my friends words which I found so touching:

"I just wanted to let everyone know that today, Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 3:15 PM, Bailey, my beautiful golden retriever, joined all the other angels at the Rainbow Bridge. He is free from his cancer. His vet who has treated him since we brought him home at 7 weeks old came to the house and he went peacefully in the front yard playing with his beloved ball and eating Filet Mignon. Through it all, he maintained his dignity, his smile and his appetite! It would have been easier if he was obviously in pain, but he had lost all control of his hindquarters from the spinal tumor and could no longer get around. Bailey will forever live in my heart and memories. Rest in peace sweet Bailey."

If anyone knows of a Golden Retriever Breeder in the DC Metro area, please email me privately, as she is anxious to make a new addition to her family. Thanks.

Paula, I do understand her pain. The first few days are living hell and I hope she realizes that things WILL get better. Please let me know if I can help.

My deepest condolences to your friend, who obviously loved her dog so much. Grieving is so hard. I hope she takes consolation in all the love she gave Bailey throughout her life.

Paula, please send my sincerest sympathies. It sounds like her furbaby was in the greatest hands while here.
