More odd behavior

since the heart failure/pacemaker situation dogs have been very protective, but last night was very odd. Old friends stopped by last night and at first the dogs were overjoyed to see them. Or at least to see Her. Her husband is not in best of health, so dogs have only met him once. I Should add they own Newfs too.
Anyhow, husband sat next to me on couch and wife on floor. Traveler would not approach Shelley, whom he ADORES and stayed outside on the deck, sniffing the air and watching us. He refused to come in the house, even after they left. And just now he won't come in the back door either; it's as if he's frightened of something. Steve, the husband, loves dogs and has never done anything to Traveler. I'm totally confused why Trav is suddenly acting so reticent. Any ideas? Bella was perfectly friendly and comfortable with both of them.

Maybe he sensed the husband is sick and somehow associates that with you being gone and sick when hospitalized. Definitely odd behavior though. Let us know if he continues like that....

Since it is now known that dogs can sense diseases, etc., it is possible he feels the man's discomfort, disease, medications, etc. He also has associated this with his family. He may think the man is bringing it into the house.
