Have any of you read any of the books in the Miss Read series? I got 3 for Xmas and am almost finished with the first one. I'm really enjoying them....

I read them about 15 years ago...wonder if she has any new ones out...I loved them...very peaceful reading.

Ok... have one of the books in front of me. Apparently, Miss Read (who's real name is Dora Saint) has several different series. I am reading books from the "Fairacre Series". I am just about finished with the first one. The titles are:

"Village School"
"Village Centenary"
"Summer at Fairacre"
"Mrs. Pringle of Fairacre"
"Changes at Fairacre"
"Fairwell to Fairacre"

My Sister Inlaw has read them, and several of the other series, which feature the main character "Miss Read"...
