Long Beach National Dog Show

Is anyone going to just watch or showing their dog this coming weekend Dec. 4 & 5?
This is the first year I am going, and I am so excited. I have never been to a dog show. Any tips or helpful info I should know. I will only be going to the day part, mostly because I want to see the breed judging and the Meet the Breeds booth.

I am so surprised that no one is going, this is billed as such a big show. I hope I have a good time. I will be going on Sunday during the day to see the Newfie judging. I am very sorry that I wont be able to stay all day but it is a bit of a drive for me and I have to work early on Monday.

A friend of my husband's will have his Bouvier there...for the life of me, I can't remember the dogs name I wish I could be there...sigh.

Went last year- it was so much fun- despite what happened to us- my dog bloated out there- take it all in- if its your first show ever- don't get used to it- some parts are the same others are overdone for the occassion.

My breeder's Newf did really well. "Naomi" got best of opposite sex and best bred....Whoo hoo.. "Susitnas make me a super model" Way to go Naomi.

It was a good show today, not sure how the earlier days went. I would be a bad judge because the ones I thought looked the best did not even place, oh well, guess I wont go into that field of work.
The Meet the Breed booths looked great. The Keeshound got best in show for their booth, it was fantastic. The Newfies was good too, but what I was impressed with the most was the people at the Newfie booth. At many of the events I have been to here in So Cal the Newfie owners are not very friendly and very stand offish. The ones today were friendly chatty and interacting with visitors. It was so nice to see, Thank you.
