Lewis and Clark and Me

We just picked it up today as the modern day L&C were passing through ( http://www.newf.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=19;t=000046 ). It looks really good. More of an older kids (10-15) level than an adult book it looks like. It tells the story of the L&C expedition from Seaman's eyes.

Colleen even got the current Seaman to autograph it for her (plus one from The Young Stud (inside joke for those that were there :D )). Poor Seaman was getting really tired of having his paw jammed on an ink pad and plopped down on a book when all he wanted to do was sleep.

More when it actually has been read.

I wasn't very impressed. It was very short (60ish pages) and written in a style for younger readers but the type wasn't large enough for younger readers. Each chapter was an isolated incedent extrapolated from Lewis' journals (which would be good if you only wanted to read your kids a chapter a night before bed) but reading them all at once was a little disjointed.

If you can find it on sale somewhere it might be worth it but I can't recomend paying full retail ($17) for it.
