Knee repair

I'm asking because I'm curious - not judging - but what is the purpose of the CT scan? I'm just not sure what a CT would show that would confirm or deny what they're going to do.

Elvis didn't need a sling at home. He had his surgery on a Wednesday and could have come home on Friday, but my husband was out of town and I wasn't going to do the 3 hour drive by myself. Elvis stayed through Sunday and by the time he came home he was walking with barely a limp. They sent us home with it just in case, and we used it to get him out of the car (SUV) but that was it.

I believe the CT is either for confirmation of stiffle angle or it is for her hip that needs repair also.

CT will actually show more than X-rays and sometimes they can even make a 3D picture of the the whole skeletal system. Our CT's here at my work do amazing things....it is especially good for the hips. but generally too expensive. I did my newf at my work and we did not use anesthetic..great pictures and so quick with the new machine, literally moments. To have a CT and an MRI would be the ultimate diagnostic tools, but way too expensive.

Yes: MRI woud be way costly. Even CT is about $6oo but want to give her the best chance that the repair goes well.
