Just a dumb question

Do any of you feel like you hear from your dogs after they are gone?

It's been very odd for me lately. It's been a year since Myra. Our house all knew what day it was but no body said anything until later that night.

I was sitting watching a show on amazon (Carnival Row) Vin was just coming out of the bedroom and made the statement, you know what today is right? Just as I'm about to answer him, I swear I heard the show use the name Myra, I had to back it up and yes the man said the name as Myra (even though, it's spelt Moira) When I looked it up on the Ipad, the name of the episode was called "Grieve no more"

Needless to say Vince and I both cried and I honestly don't feel the grief will ever leave, maybe just lessen over time. I miss them both so much. What's the chances of watching the show named that, on the date of her passing, and hearing her name, just as he's asking me that?

I do believe that. I think they never really leave us. I have heard a dog barking at the door but when I get up to let her in, I realize all my dogs are in the house. So sorry for your loss. Unfortunately the grief never really goes away.

I"ll share this: Sara always had a certain bark she used when she was having fun. We called it her happy bark. After she passed every night just as I was turning off the lights to go to bed I'd tell her 'night'. Just like I did when she was alive. One night after I turned off the light I just stood there and I said to myself but out loud. "I wish I knew if you were OK." Right away I heard her happy bark. It put my mind as ease. I knew she is happy and OK.

OK, now I have tears in my eyes, Jeannie. I long to have Hugo and the rest of them back. But just to have a hint from one of them...

I have those experiences all the time. About 30 years ago I recall reading one of Kubler-Ross' books on death and I think she said something about when we needed a sign from our lost loved one we often got it. I really believe that. Hugs

Thanks for the replies, just recently another shocker happened. And I have to believe, it makes my heart happy to think it and maybe one day our paths will cross but Shel on here has pups.

I follow her on FB. She made a comment about purple girl having the name Myra (which is not a very common name) and I had the stupid thought to ask if she was a Landseer, and she answered yes, and tears just started flowing, along with a smile that maybe she's come back and has a new life to lead. It's been a very strange road without the two of them and I do love the coincidences, if we can call it that.

P.S. Glad I'm not crazy or alone, Ha but then again I kinda am.
