Isaiah update

The boy, from a standpoint of his surgery, is doing great. However, they are keeping him drugged because he feels waaay too good.

He gets a tiny dose of Ace promazine twice daily. The original prescritpion was 1 to two tablets. I gave him one tablet and he was completely comatose for 10 hours. Couldn't get up, etc. So I cut him back to one half tablet six hours apart during the day. At that dose, he's calmed, a little sleepy but still able to walk and enjoy his toys. he's fascinated wiht a couple new ones I found. The little squeakysuirrels tucked into the tree trunk (He waits for me to put them bakc in once he gets them out. and Nanco's pet rock. he'll play with both of those for hours.

The hospital called to check on him today. They laguhed at how good he feels. It's good he uses his leg normally, (helps the cartledge rebuild) but his activity level still needs to be kept quiet. Since he's on such a low dose, he's staying on it for the week to be reassessed next week when he goes back to the surgeon

tomorrow hell have the excitement of an outing. He goes to the vets for an Adequan shot.

Best,

Holly

Hi, I am so glad he is doing well! We are facing the same problem with Ozzy, we are going to have to sedate him because he is too active. I am waiting for our vet to call in a prescription.
Who would have thought that after a major surgery like Isaiah and Ozzy had, that they would be feeling so good so soon!?
Thanks for the update, I was wondering how you bothe were doing.
I wish you both a continued uncomplicated and speedy recovery!
Take care
