I bought a Bissell steam cleaner this week. My couch and wing chair, ESPECIALLY the arm of the wing chair, was so horribly encrusted with floogers, dried on, brittle, gunky.....ok, you get the idea so I'll stop there.:shocker:

Anyway, we have hard wood and tile floors in our house but I do have area rugs and, of course the sofa and wing chair to contend with that a mop, bucket and/or broom just won't cut.

So this morning, for the first time I just tried out the Bissell on my horrendously encrusted wing chair. OMG! :ah: It looks like I just bought a new chair.

I won't describe the gunk that you can see flowing into the suction tank. You probably are already thinking I must live in squaller. But I just have to say, I think Bissell should let me and my three pups be the poster child for their Bissell steam machine. I just can't get over it. I'm so happy to have a CLEAN living room rugs and furniture again. :icon_bb: :alc:

Sounds just like something I need. How does it do on tile and wood floors? Will it work on them? We've been removing carpet (slowly but surely) and have hardwood and tile with area rugs in the rooms we've finished. The area rugs I don't care about, but the furniture (fabric) and the floors I'd like to work on.

I just got it yesterday, so I haven't used it on the floors and tile (still used the mop method). Today I did the furniture first and am now moving on to the area rugs and hallway runners. I'll give you and update when I get to the floors themselves.

It is amazing what floogers do! I swear I wish I could patent the stuff. It sticks like permanent glue! YIKES! But this cleaner has done an amazing job on the furniture with particular attention to the armrests where big old slobbery chops frequently rest! :)

YIKES!! Thank goodness I read your post before I tried it on the tiles (and yes they are adhesive backed in one small room I was going to use it on.)

It is ok on ceramic, isn't it?

I use my Bissell on my porcelain tiles, but it doesn't do a very good job on the grout lines, so my old friend, the toothbrush, still has a job. Sigh...people who invent these things should be required to own at least two Newfs and test their products at home.

I loved my Bissell steam cleaner and I talked about it so much that my kids borrowed it and one (they both say "not me") broke it.

Amen to that! I think most any type of cleaning product should be tested in homes with Newfs. If it passes the Newf test then I say it is a good product!

Please! What model did you get???? We are drowning in dried floogers and I am a wee bit embarrassed to have anyone come over!

Thank you,
Melissa
