I thought I would put this in a new thread since it got started a bit talking about putting your in case of empergency numbers in your cell phone under ICE 1 & ICE 2 in the newfy stuff for sale thread. I had received a few different forwarded emails on doing that recently too so I thought I'd check it out some more with a friend that works 911 dispatch in our county and here is what he had to say (just a thing to keep in mind with this and todays society)

I have not heard of this...we have tried to track cell numbers to thier owners and identity is sometimes a question in an emergency..but i would not be so sure...usuallly if you have your cell you will have an i.d. with you...if you had your cell phone taken from you..you proabably would not call your family right away to tell them..you would call your cell company..meanwhile...the person who took you phone would be able to contact someoneand try to pull a scam...a few years ago they were calling people saying
relatives had been in an accident and they needed info and poof...the persons identity was stolen..my advice..have an i.d. on you...grand traverse county has a high rate of out of town people involved in emergencies...we rarely have trouble locating family..just my opinion

Just another thing to think about with some much identity theft going on these days.....
