Ice hockey &Newfs

Imagine that huh?.....MR gales is at it again, only this time his passion for the on the TV, keeps him quite calm,as apose to the darn Dyson commercial.. he will just sit there watching...

.seriosly, he just plops down in front of the TV.so no-one else can see and watches...Hubby is yelling Dog get out the way, and August looks over his shoulder and then gets back to "HIS" hockey game!!!!

Anybody elses Newf love Ice Hockey?

No one in this household watches ice hockey, so I have no idea. Usually the boys never pay any attention to the TV but if I turn on the Animal Planet - breed All about It, Newfs. Apache will sit there and stare at the TV until it is over.

LOL.haven't tried that channel!!!
My husband LOVES Ice Hockey...I do too, we had a son that played, thats when I really got into it!
But right now it is the Stanley cup playoffs, 3rd game , and August and my hubby are fighting over the TV...it is really comical!!

Nikki, our son Josh played ice hockey for 14 years, I absolutely loved it. My family is from Canada and my Dad started the first youth ice hockey league in our city in WI. It is HUGE here now with 3 indoor rinks. Unfortunately, my Dad died before he ever saw my son play hockey in the youth league he started.
I used to be a big Blackhawks & Penguins fan.

My Newfs like the Canadiens!

Thats wonderful Garden_girl!!!....Our son had made the Washington little Capitals.......at 15..then announced he didn't want to play any more, he wanted to be a rock star!!!!!

......BUT now at 21 he plays in Finland!!.GO figure!!

You must be so proud of what your father started!

Too funny. Kody loves to watch "Over the Hedge" he is mesmerized by the little animated animals!
and both of mine bark for the Dominos commercial where the door bell rings. Get the door it's Dominos!

The Dyson commercial with the wimpy, squeaky vacuums still sets mine off. They've seen it about three dozen times now, but they still go racing down the hall barking when it airs.
Mine like auto racing, and stadium horse jumping. They will sit glued together in front of the TV each trying to get the best position.

Thats the one I'm talking about..August almost goes through the TV at it!!!!

We have a hockey Newf also. Henry has visited his fair share of rinks! Both my sons play. One is 17 and the other is 10. We also run our own hockey camp. We are watching the playoffs also and they are sooooo exciting tonight!

Hockey camp, this is like a trip down memory lane for me. One thing I don't miss....the odor that wafted thru the air whenever Josh unzipped his hockey bag. We need a puking smiley, don't we?

I don't know what it is about that particular noise, but it must just universally drive them nuts. They don't seem to take notice of any other commercials, even very loud ones.
Maybe it's some sort of subliminal advertising ploy by Dyson.

Editted to add...not a hockey fan here. But I think it's mainly because I never had anyone to sit down and explain the rules to me. It took me a long time to learn football. Basketball was easier.
But after all these years, it still looks to me like just a bunch of guys chasing each other with sticks.
