I was at school having a normal shool day and the lunch bell rang i ran to the cafeteria and bought a slushie. So i went to take a drink, laughing and carrying on with my friends, i stuck it up to my mouth forgetting there was straw in the cup and drove it back in my soft palette
.I didnt realize this until blood started pouring out of my mouth
. The hole is as big as the end of a ciggarette. So my principle called my mom and said i "scratched" it, all she could think is you're calling me at work because she scratched her throat? So she came in anyways and took me to the Hospital and the DR said i might need stitches. He caled the throat speacialist and she said it would heal if not i have to go in for surgery. The DR then asked me if there was a missing peice, i said i dont know, when he left i remembered OMG stephanie(BFF) was drinking out of the staw after the inncident,

I have three things about this thread:

1. You get slushies at school???? Man! We didn't even have a soda machine at my high school!!

2. Eeks, that sounds so scary about your accident. If it helps, when I was about 3 I was running through the house with a chopstick in my mouth and just as my mom said "GET THAT OUT OF YOUR MOUTH BEFORE YOU FALL DOWN!!!" I did :x heh. Hope you don't need surgery - yuk!

3. ROFLMAO about the missing piece. Maybe don't mention that to Stephanie . . . just in case :erm:

lol!

Consider yourself lucky.

A 10-yr-old boy from a local school died yesterday in a Regina hospital because of a head injury sustained in what is reported as rough housing on the playground. However, witnesses say it was a bullying incident with a bigger kid. And of course, the school didn't call the parents.

Oh my gosh! Sounds awful. I hope that you don't need surgery! Actually, something similar happened to my mom when I was a little kid. We were on vacation in Disney World and my mom and dad had gone out to dinner with some friends we'd gone there with, and while they were at dinner my mom had this big tropical drink with a straw and she started laughing about something, and the straw WENT UP HER NOSE!!! lol She said it started bleeding terribly but she was laughing so hard because it was so funny. She had been wearing a white outfit and she came home and looked like she'd been shot because it was all red! People need to watch out for those straws they can be dangerous!! lol I hope you're heals up quick Courtney!

OOhhhhh OUCH!!! It makes my throat hurt just reading your post. Maybe they should start putting warning labels on drinking straws?
:D I hope you feel better real soon & avoid any surgery.

Hopefully its healing and my chances of getting to the operating table are getting slimmer :D .
You are right warning labels should be put on straws.Stupid children (in general) avoid, talking ,moving, doing anything while drinking out of this straw. :D

Its actually improved a lot and i have all the confident that i wont get surgery. From now on i'm gonna call Stephanie a cannibal and if she asks why i'll say never mind
.The peroxide tastes disgusting well not as gross as buckleys or benadryl
.Im still working out my next english assignment and its in the process, lol.Next time i get a slushie it will be non-straw :D for mine and steph's sake
