I need to vent!!!

Hi everyone
I need to vent about a pet peeve I have every year as Westminster dog show is on TV. Yesterday, I had a lady bring in her Schnauzer and wanted it to "look like the one on tv last night" (this dog gets groomed every 12 weeks) Well, I informed her that I don't do show grooming and if she is interested in getting a show cut I could refer to lady that will keep your dog for 6 weeks to set in the style for a cost of $800.00. Needless to say she declined. (I am not kidding on the price I know a lady that show grooms schnauzers)

Today I had a lady bring in her Yorkie with a photo of a very nice show groom. Of course she wanted her dog to look just like that!! Fat chance--this lady only gets her dog groomed twice a year NO WAY can I do that type of groom after cutting or shaving out the mats.

Hopefully I will have another year's peace--until Westminster next year.

Glad you all, whom I consider FRIENDS, let me get this off my chest. OK groomers, do you have this same problems???

Hi Jeannie, I'm not a groomer but wanted to say sorry about the annoyance! You know, I actually thought about you when I saw the haircut and the poodle that won Best in Show...I thought, hey Jeannie, there's a haircut for you!
Just be thankful no one has showed up with any poodles......yet!

Jeannie, you can vent anytime. I'm sooo thankful that our groomer knows how to groom a Newfie and she does a beautiful job. Several shops around here won't take on the larger breeds. Kodi gets brushed everynight so mats don't set in. I feel if we do our part, it makes the groomers job a little easier

That was one elaborate show-cut the little poodle had, eh? As beautiful and charismatic as the little Westminster darling was, I can't help but wonder if a trend isn't starting with dogs being judged by their "hairstyles". Look at J.R., the Bichon Frise - cute as a button but sportin' a bouffant to rival Tammy Faye.

How come it's always the little, puffy dogs that win?!!

Sorry, I'm still disappointed that not only did Toadhall's Field of Dreams not win but the other gorgeous Giant breeds seemed to have been completely overlooked.

Thats so funny , people are so funny, sounds alot like some people in hair salons bringing in a picture for the stylist to do on their hair knowing they only have 2 hairs on there heads, but wanting there hair to look just like the picture, u know some people are never satisfied.

I can't open up the Westminster page right now for some reason, I want to check out the Tammy Faye groom. There was a 'papillon' (sp?) toy breed that won one year, another small breed. Maybe next year, they should braid the Newfie's hair or something, just for laughs.

Wow-lol-see what you mean about JR. Great looking dog but poooooofy!
