Human Anti-inflamatories for Limp

Our 21 month old girl, Bailey, started limping (front right leg) on the way out for her last business trip of the night - Saturday. She had a very active day with a hike through snow, playtime in the backyard and a playdate with her puppy friend at the local ball field. The two pups were chasing each other and Bailey was on her back a few times with 5 month old husky/lab Cas on top. She walked home fine and was okay for the next 5 hours. She was still limping on Sunday but, improved as the day went on. She doesn't have any issues with being touched and nothing appears swollen. She is favouring the paw today but, not as much as Saturday night. Wondering if we could give her a human anti-inflammatory (109 pounds) to help? She can't see the vet until Thursday - only one in town. Any suggestions? We are only taking her out to do business and she is on rest for the remaining time. She does want to go for a walk.

I would say no, but try googling some anti inflammatories for dogs. Can you call a vet to ask what can be given till you see him? Otherwise, just rest as you are doing.

Good idea. Talked to vet and she said no to human inflammatories as well. Bailey just came in with little limping so, I am keeping my fingers crossed that rest is the best medicine for her.

Sometimes it is better for them to feel the pain so they won't injure themselves more. Just keep her quiet and rest. Keep us posted!

Good news, Bailey is no longer limping. I still have her on minimal activity until tomorrow. We will have a short walk and see how that goes. In the meantime, Bailey is flinging her "Stuffie" up in the air and trying to get us to throw it into the entry area. The snow conditions are perfect outside and she can't seem to understand why we are not going walking. Tomorrow, we will. Thanks for the support.
