How to keep from marking

We just added some landscaping to our backyard and I was wondering if there was a way to keep Turner from marking the plants and possibly killing them? We put in a few boxwoods, knockout roses and a Willow tree so nothing major but I would like to attempt to protect them.

We have knockout roses too. Elvis took a pricker in the nose and never bothered them again!! He never marked them though, he nibbled the roses off.

Give him a more interesting place to hang out in the yard.
Or retrain him to potty in a particular spot, as far from the house as possible.
Or use a repellent (which doesn't always work, but worth a try).
Or put a barrier up (like a fence or something).

I know this is not the answer...but I thought pee was good for roses? We too are in the middle of working on the front flower bed, but thankfully, Thor has never been allowed to pee there.
