Don't know too much about above ground pools, but I can give a couple of hints on the dog hair. First, you will use a little more chlorine with dogs in the pool regularly. Second, you must have some sort of filter system. If you have a basket type, you can get liners to go in the basket and the liner will catch the dog hair. It does float, but large amounts will sink and form balls in the bottom of the pool which are easy to dip out. I had three in my pool yesterday. It's not a big deal. If you can find a way for yours to get out, I would certainly try it. We've had a pool for 16 years with Newfs in it for 6, and have never had a problem with the liners. {{{knock on wood}}}
You will have to get in and leash them. Show them how to get in and out and keep them away from the sides, except where they do get in and out. They will catch on quickly.
