Boagie has been up since 2 this morning (it is now 5:30). She has been trying to poo but can't she pauses, tries. and walk.. pause, squat, walk. She threw up all that was in in tummy from last night and then water she drank after that. I gave her some pepto to calm the tummy. Does anyone have any suggetions as to what I can give her to help her go????? What about apple sauce or yogurt or anything??? I feel so bad for her she is obviously very uncomfortable.

Is it possible she got into something she shouldn't have (corn cobs, socks, remote control)? If she continues today to vomit or can't poo I would get her to the vet.
Good luck.

I certainly hope I don't offend you, but it sure sounds like your pup needs more supervision.
You need to know where she is at all times.
A crate is a wonderful training tool

If she is trying to poop and can't, you need to get her to a vet. It's possible she has a blockage from something she ate. Or she may simply be constipated. Either way I'd get her to the vets. Don't overload her system by introducing new foods everyday. I did that when my Gracie was small and learned my lesson :D

I would take her to the vet. My girlfriend has a little Bichon who was doing the same thing, up sick in the middle of the night, threw up, couldn't poo. Took her to the vet and she had gotten into the garbage and eaten something she should have and was bleeding internally as it had cut her stomach. Not to be alarming, but I would get her to the vet if you can. Hope everything goes well.

If she cant poo something comes to mind, blockage, i would take her in and get xrays and make sure she did not eat a toy or sock or pair of kiddie underoos.
this could be serious if she is blocked.
she could get terrible infection.
take her in today!
Ok what everyone else said! LOL
sorry i just read the original and not the excellent tips everyone else gave!@
let us know what you find out.

Elizabeth, no offence taken. I thought we were watching her constantly, aside from turning our backs for a minute. But now I am not so sure.. I hate to have to keep her crated until this "terrible 2" stage passes but for her sake it seems I have no choice.
Brian in taking her to the vet today to find out what is going on.
Thanks for all the advice. I will let everyone know what we find out...
By the way... how long to the terrible 2s last? she is just 5 months.

Bubba's still got the T2's at 10 months  . But in his defense, I must admit he seems better this past week. Either that or I'm so used to it it doesn't seem as bad

Karen,
I wish I could say I know more but all the vets in washington state take wednesdays off and leave techs in charge.
the good news is she is no worse off except she is very hungry, and in addition to her attempts to poo she is also trying to pee. So what, a bladder infection?
her temp is 102.3 so high normal but normal.
We have 2 vets, one for serious situations and one who although she has pictures of herself and Betty white on her office walls, I would not trust to diagnoseher way out of a paper bag.
lee, the one i would trust with any of my animals, was out but lynne, his faithful companion ( I trust her every bit as much)
had brian feed boagie bread soaked in oil. to 'lube her up' being a horse person, this makes sence to me(and the fact there was not fever and she was acting almost normal)Brian was supposed to then not let her out of his sight,,, I love my husband but his ability to actually do this is another story. He assured me he wathched her 80% of the afternoon which is most likely means 60%.
So if anything passed we do not know. but she is not vomitting now so maybe this is a good sign.
Tomorrow she will go to the vet for the day for observation (unless we have a major problem tonight then, ER here we come) I just need to decide if this is something the poser who is 3 minutes away can handle or if it warrents a trip to lee who is 60 miles away but worth his wieght in old mother hubbard kibble....

I am pleased to announce 2:00 A.M. brought relief
to Boagie. Yes the lubed bread was a success. This morning she was back to her same naughty self. Turned my back to grab my cup of coffee she knocked a glass dish off the counter on to the floor then thought she would help clean the mess by trying to eat the pieces. she did not get any...
Just in case I took her package from last night along with a bit o' tinkle to the vet for a quick looksee. Hopefully the worst they will find is a bladder infection.
Karen, I kinda wonder if we didn't send her tummy into a tail spin with all the different veggies. we are changed our method. 1 new veggie every 3 days for 3 days. this way we will know if it does not agree with her.

So glad to hear that Boagie has had some relief and is back to her normal self!!! Thanks for sharing all the info... will keep the bread and oil remedy in mind for future use.

I like the oil and bread idea too. I'll try to remember it
.

I bet you she got large, very uncomfortable pockets of gas in her intestines from all the veggies. I know I get it  from raw brocolli. Glad to hear she's feeling good!
