Hello from Colorado

Im really excited about finding this board, there seems to be so much info!
Well Im not a Newf owner "yet" But Im very intrested in the breed. I have so many questions and this seems like the write place to come with questions on Newfs.
I do however own a 3 year old female German Shorthaired pointer named lilly. She's a super dog, the fastest in the west!
Is anyone here from Colorado?

If you haven't already checked it out, the NCA (Newfoundland Club of America) website has alot of good information for people interested in learning more about the breed. Here is a link to their website: NCA Website

Also, there are Regional Clubs all over the United States, and they have events scheduled throughout the year. This is a great time, because most clubs are more active during spring/summer/fall. There is a list of all Regional Clubs on the NCA website. I believe the name of the club in Colorado is High Country Newfoundland club. Hi Rompin!

I'm in Wyoming, so we're neighbors!
As Annie said there is a club based in Denver. Great people. Very helpful. They are pretty active. High Country Newf Club sponsors a draft event in May in Golden usually, then in September, over the Labor Day weekend they hold a Water event. I have made it to the Draft contest. It was neat. I want to go to the Water event later this summer. I FINALLY have a newf who loves the water. It is a joy to watch him swim!

Well Im thinking of getting one in the future I dont have the cash right know Im 19 and Im actully trying to become a dog trainer I wish I could get one now But I have a small yard and not much money so im going to wait till I can offer one more. Intill then Im just trying to learn as much as I can about them. How many Newfs do you own? How old and how big? I love big dogs but Ive never had one more than 60lb. The first time I saw a Newf I was frozen with amasment.
