Head Growth and changes

Would any of you happen to have head shots of your newfs say 8-9-10 months and then at say 2-3-4- years and up.
I am new to the breed and am not sure of all the changes that occur.
At what age did you see the biggest change? What about the snout does it get wider and get more depth with age or does that stay about the same from nine months on, what are all the changes that happen to the head?
What about the width of head when do most of the changes happen and at what age just a little here and there.
I look at some pictures here and wonder what they looked like when they were younger.
Please add anything that would help me understand the breed better, in terms of growth, thank you

Yes thanks I see the difference. Wow, as I said this is my first newf, and large breed ever.
Any more before and afters would be great, thanks guys and gals.

As far as the head goes, it all depends on the genetics...again.

I can show you three examples....Mira, Molly and Cole. Cole's has changed the least, overall.

I'll do them in different posts.

Here's Molly........

10 weeks old

6 mos old

18 mos old

3.5 yrs old

This is great, tks,

anymore pics out there, I love the before and after
The differnce is amazing, wow
It is giving me an idea, and makes me realize, how much more they grow, after being nine months old. When I say he is a baby still, he is.
So from puppy to nine months is the first big jump, and after a year and half it seems they do another second big jump, two on they fill out and look more mature.
Is that right, or am I not getting it?

Most Newfs go through a "fugly" stage. It can from 6 - 12 mos, more or less. Some don't really. They start out as perfect mini-Newfs and grow pretty evenly, looking good the whole time.

Some lines mature much more slowly than others. Mira didn't even fill out until she hit 4 yrs old. Molly was 3. Cole is growing more evenly across the board, but he still is very long and lanky under that fur.....and the coat in the back needs to "mature". It's not as full or thick as the front. His chest hasn't dropped yet either.

I agree with Donna. It all depends on the line that they come from as far as how fast they mature. Macy's line matures at a slower rate. She is almost 4 and just filled out.
No need to rush....they grow up to fast as it is!!
If they could only stay that cute little puppy fluff!!!

I am so excited this thread was started! Jamie was just commenting last night about how Nigel has a skinny face. He's 6 months old today. I told Jamie that his head will grow.

I noticed with my MIL's Saint B., that he's changed a lot in the last few months. He was very tall legged, and skinny, now he's filling out nicely, and my FIL said that he heard that his head still has to grow. Cooper is 15 or 16 months old.

Morgan was not done filling out until after her 3rd birthday, i think. She was her full high by about 16 months, her body filled out till she was around 2.5, and lastly her head. She is small and slightly built and it still took her that long.

3 years old!
