I love Harry Potter stuff, and the kids I teach love it even more!!! I am reading it with some other teachers I work with this summer.. . so hooray!

I LOVE the Harry Potter series. This is the first book that I haven't been chomping at the for it to be released though. I'm sure once it's out...I'll be there like everyone else! (And I can't believe I didn't pre-order it!)

I'm taking a vacation day tomorrow so I can get my bracelet at Barnes & Noble at 9:00 (numbered bracelets to establish order of distribution for anyone who preordered.) My local Barnes & Noble party starts at 9:00 p.m., with books being handed out at midnight.
(bouncing in my chair)

I really wanted to go to the party in Stillwater, the town where I work. A small bookstore here organized an event in which they transformed the Zephyr (passenger train) station and train into the Hogwart's Express! For $65, you get the book plus two train passes. The train takes off at midnight when they start handing out books. How cool would that be? Chris vetoed that one, though! lol

I won't be going to get the preordered book...cause I didn't pre-order!

But, I will read it. I love those books! I like the movies too. And...shhhhhh...I have no kids left at home!!! LOL

I buy them, then a day or two later, give them to our library. They're happy to have another copy!

Can't believe all of you actually truck down to a store to get a copy. Mine gets hand delivered to my door by 10 am Sat. morning. No lines, no staying up until the wee hours of the morning. Just Potter and coffee. Ah....the comforts of quiet and home...

Am I strange? I have never read any of the books or seen any of the movies. Actually I have had no desire....

I've not read any of the books, but I adore the movies. I decided to wait and read the books after the movies are finished, beause there is a difference, from what I've been told, and I want to enjoy each in their own way.

Russell on the other hand, well, I made this deal with him. He's a huge Lord of the Rings fan, and I negotiated that he read at least the first Harry Potter. As always, my skeptical husband's only comment was....

"Comparing Harry Potter to Lord of the Rings is like comparing Barney to Jurassic Park".

What a brat!

I just panicked b/c I preordered mine through Amazon who usually ships via US mail but they shipped with UPS this time!!! We don't get UPS in our little town on Saturday!!! But I'm ok...I called UPS and they said they will be delivering a big bundle of packages to the local post office and I should get it with my regular mail! *whew*
yeh, I'm a bit of a Harry Potter nut!

I was just talking to my sister in law last night about how HUGE Harry Potter is. Can anyone remember a series of books that brought so much anticipation? And to think that's it's a series for kids! Adults are just as taken by the series as the kids. (Maybe even more!)

We just watched the Sorcerer's Stone again on Sunday night...and I just LOVE seeing Diagon Alley...that was one of my favorite parts of the book imagining a shopping area devoted to all things magic. And I also loved the hall at Hogwarts and seeing the floating candles, jack-o-lanters, and the feasts. I just love Harry Potter.
