Groomer in eastern CT?

Don't know if this is legal to ask this on the forum, so sorry ahead if it's not. My longtime groomer has been ill and I need to find a replacement, even though I hope it's temporary. I have an 8 1/2 year old newf with bad arthritis in her low back. Even with my regular groomer, my dog has been more and more resistant to getting on the table, then the tub etc. She is the type who remembers every slip and any other bad thing that happens and wants to run the other way when confronted with the situation. I honestly don't know how much is the discomfort from the arthritis or just her way. I need a recommendation for someone with a setup and a willingness to deal with a large, hairy, stubborn, arthritic, senior dog! We just dropped her off at Petco out of desperation, and I'm not confident at all this will go well. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We keep ending up at Petsmart. I always ask for the salon manager/real groomer and we have a conversation beforehand to make me comfortable. So far I've been happy, in 2 states.
