I'm just reading "Marley & Me" by John Grogan & highly recommend it, even tho' its non-Newf (features the world's worst Lab). This book is so funny, it has me

now!! I'm also keen to do another "group read" like we did with "In the Company of Newfies" Someone had suggested "Henry Forever" a while back. What about it. The Reading Room seems quiet...

Yes, just finished it myself. An easy read that will definitely ahve you laughing (like the person who gave it to me said .. there is a little bit of Marley in every dog) and crying (I suggest having a four-legged with you to wipe the tears on for the last few chapters). Did you notice that his family now has a lab named Gracie? Thought you might enjoy that!

I picked up the book last weekend, just haven't started it yet. Glad to hear such great reviews! I'm excited to get going on it!

I'm halfway through the book - tonight will be reading about Marley going to Dog Beach. I did not know they now have a dog named "Gracie" - how ironic. I've said no one should ever name their dog Gracie - it's a bad omen.
Had I the skills, I could write a book about her too!! She's also afraid of thunder & I learned where to but Rescue Remedy from a Newf-Netter. They certainly loved their dog - many would have given up.

Loved Marley and Me....Just hope their Gracie is not as wild as my Gracie!
They'll think Marley has been re-incarnated! Here's my vote for reading Henry Forever.

I loved this book. Although I agree with Erin, have a four-legged kleenex box nearby when you get to the end.

OK - extra kleenex on hand because I'm finishing it tonight or tomorrow. Why is it that pet stories always have sad endings! Couldn't Greyfriar's Bobby have lived on happily in another home or Old Yeller be cured? :D

Well, finished the book on the weekend. I'm returning it to the owner with the last pages marked by dried tear drops.
What a great book.

Great book. Makes you understand why some people give up their dogs to rescue (you'd have to read about Marley's first few weeks to understand!), but instead this couple persevered and saw him for the lovable goof he was.

The ironic part is, their second lab...... oh wait - I don't want to spoil it for anyone. ;)

Read this book! It's great!
