Holy Moly!!!! I just checked Ebay to see if there was anything new... and WOW.... there are 466 items listed under Newfoundland....

I used to type "Newfoundland Dog" into the search field, but recently, I've been clicking on "collectibles" on the home page, then "animals", then "dogs", then Newfoundland.

I can't believe how much stuff there is. It's going to take me hours to go through..... :D

Wow, Annie, that is a lot of listings. I was thinking of putting an item on, but I guess that would make me #467! I try not to go there and "look". Somehow the "looking" always transfers to $$.

Holy Moly is right, Annie! I used to just go to Newfoundland dog(s) or the plural, but this time on the home page I typed in search word of Newfoundland and came up with over 1550 items! Jeeez, all the things I've been missing!! Wow!

When you type in only Newfoundland you get all the junk stuff like stamps and things pertaining to the country not the dogs

Jeannie,

Just to point out that Newfoundland is not a country but a province of Canada, just like Ohio is a state of the United States.

If you ever have a chance to visit and want to see icebergs, a ton of whales (pardon the pun), and visit with some of the friendliest people, head up there sometime.

Cheers

Actually the province's full anbd official name is Newfoundland and Labrador (postal abbrev. NL)

But that's a bit too long so most people call it Newfoundland or Labrador, depending on where you want to go.

As to Labrador, think COLD. It is cold up there.....

Cheers

Typing "Newfoundland Dog" on ebay works but leaves a lot of stuff out. I usually typed Newf* and then did the advance search method which allowed you to delete the stamps, Newfield, New frame, and other things that would come up etc. I found that quite a few of the sellers would list an item as "Newfie _____" or "Newf ______" and if I used "Newfoundland" I wasn't getting some of the neat things.
Darn. Now my secret is out. ;)

I have gotten many of my "newfie" things from Ebay... and have been delighted with everything... I've even gotten items from Austrailia, New Zealand and The Netherlands! Can't beat that!!! They've got a lot of calendars available... I just bid on one. Be careful to check out the s/h charges... there is one seller who has many calendars offered, and the s/h charges can vary by at least a couple of dollars.

Wow Steve, you're up on your geography! I'm a fellow Canuck and did not know that. I just thought Labrador was part of Newfoundland!

I agree on the cold though. We're supposed to get 30 cm (about a foot) here in Ontario, and it's about 7 degrees F out there with some pretty good windchill happening. :( So if you don't hear from me tomorrow, I'm out in a snowdrift playing with my snowdog
:D Yeaaa for snowdays!

nice newfie

I'll be checking that out as well, Considering I'm a Newf,(two legged kind) I might type in Newfoundland and check everything.I'd love to get some Newfoundland tartan and sew some bibs for James. What a picture that would make.Labrador has also been called'The land that God gave Cain'
Never been there myself.Usually spend most of my time in Corner Brook.Karen
