eating stones

This one is a new one on me .we have moved all the pots and flowers out of the way as they kept chewing on them and eating the compost.

Luna is always bringing small stones into the house and today she had a runny poo which contained stones.she doesnt like raw hides, has loads of toys and soft chews around.

Am monitoring her in the garden as its mostly gravel but if anyone has any ideas on breaking this habit.

My Sarah, black lab, will chew/eat rocks if she finds them. her sire did the same thing. Not sure why either on of them do it but we just keep watch over her also taught her the drop it command and leave it which helps.

Yes I agree with Bailey Boy. Aika does not eat stones but she does like to put her mouth in everything, so the drop it and leave it command are very handy. When she wants to dig holes, I tell her "leave it" and redirect her. She wants to please be so, she stops it and comes to spend time with me. I'm hoping this is how I'm going to break her bad habit of digging holes.
